STEP 01

How Does the “Five-Step Footing” Framework Work?

The “Five-Step Footing” is a core survival framework consisting of: (1) Stabilizing survival indicators with your tutorial AI, (2) Gathering 4 Titanite to repair the Command Center, (3) Scouting Sector 1 expedition routes, (4) Capturing prisoners with the F key under 25% HP, and (5) Conquering milestone decisive battles.

When starting as The Leader in Pax Autocratica, following these sequential steps ensures your colony economy stabilizes before higher Enemy Strength Levels (ESL) spawn elite hostiles.

Step 1: Stabilize Survival Indicators

Complete the opening tutorial with Intella Explorer A20. Secure basic food rations and basic shelter before venturing into high-threat territory.

Step 2: Unlock Governance Tools

Collect 4 Titanite in the starting zone to repair the Command Center. This unlocks the Command Center Office, citizen allocations, and building placement.

Step 3: Establish Expedition Routes

Scout the Elysia Oasis region in Sector 1. Set up drop-pod extraction points and track escalating Enemy Strength Level (ESL).

Step 4: Prisoner Conversion Pipeline

Craft Capture Rounds using wood, weaken enemies (Urslan Combatants and Scourgeborn) below 25% HP, press F to capture, and construct a Prison.

Step 5: Push Strategic Battle Zones

Equip up to 10 Core Fragments, build the Tactical Bureau and Armor Workshop, and clear milestone decisive battles in Elysia Oasis.

STEP 02

What Are the Campaign Milestones for Hours 1 to 12?

Campaign milestones for hours 1 to 12 progress from repairing your Command Center in Elysia Oasis (Hours 1-2) to constructing Food Halls and Prisons (Hours 3-5), raiding Drakon Camps for tech (Hours 6-8), and assembling 10 Core Fragment slots for Decisive Battles (Hours 9-12).

Timeline Primary Objective Key Technology / Buildings Recommended Gear & Cores
Hours 1 – 2 Complete Judgment Protocol, arrive in Sector 1 (Elysia Oasis), gather 4 Titanite. Command Center Repair, Intella Explorer A20 tutorial guidance. Nebula Pistol, Wood-crafted Capture Rounds (~50 stock).
Hours 3 – 5 Scout Elysia Oasis. Establish steady ration supply and construct Barracks + Food Hall + Prison. Barracks Level 1, Food Hall, Prison Block Alpha, Indoctrination Protocol. Electric Orb Core, Nebula Assault Rifle, NAT SMG.
Hours 6 – 8 Raid Drakon Mercenary Camps. Manage Fear, Loyalty, Bonds & Feuds, build Tactical Bureau. Tactical Bureau, Armor Workshop, Soldier Recycling Center. Gratov Quantum Longbow, Missile Core, Destructive Blaster.
Hours 9 – 12 Unlock 10 Core Fragment slots in Codex. Conquer Sector 1 Decisive Battle. Mobile Armored Tank, Combat Mech, Resource Transport Station. Electric Orb Core + Missile Core + Starfire Bowblaster.
STEP 03

How Should You Build Your Base Progression Chain?

The optimal base progression chain requires building the Command Center first (4 Titanite), followed by the Barracks and Food Hall for survival, the Prison and Armor Workshop for captives and defense, and finally the Tactical Bureau and Resource Transport Station for automation.

1. Command Center

Requires 4 Titanite. Houses the Command Center Office, unlocks policy decrees, citizen administration, and radar mapping.

2. Barracks & Food Hall

Barracks houses imperial Soldiers. The Food Hall produces rations to prevent starvation and maintain colony loyalty.

3. Prison & Workshop

Prison holds captured Urslan and Scourgeborn foes for interrogation. The Armor Workshop crafts enhanced defensive plates.

4. Tactical Bureau & Transport

Unlocks active skills (e.g. Leader's Inspiration). The Resource Transport Station automates bulk supply shipping.

STEP 04

How Does the Prisoner Induction Matrix Function?

The Prisoner Induction Matrix provides four core decrees: Indoctrinate (converts captives into loyal citizens/soldiers), Electroshock (emergency Fear boost to halt rebellions), Exile (generates passive mining resources and CredChips), and Soldier Recycling / Execution (reclaims biomass or maxes out imperial Fear).

Indoctrinate

Recommended

Converts captives into permanent Citizens or Soldiers. Builds long-term Loyalty and forms positive social Bonds without rebellion risks.

Electroshock

Compliance Boost

Inflicts high Fear to instantly reduce rebellion chance and curb active prison unrest. Frequent shocks can trigger Feuds among prisoner factions.

Exile

Resource Yield

Sends dangerous or unconvertible prisoners to harsh peripheral mining colonies. Yields passive raw materials and CredChips over time.

Soldier Recycling / Execute

Biomass Reclaim

Processes irredeemable hostiles in the Soldier Recycling Center to reclaim Titanite and biomass, or executes ringleaders to maximize imperial Fear.

STEP 05

What Are the Best Core Fragment Weapon Synergies?

The best weapon synergies pair rapid-fire energy weapons (Nebula Assault Rifle or NAT SMG) with the Electric Orb Core for cascading room clears, or precision weapons (Gratov Quantum Longbow) with the Missile Core for high single-target Overlord boss damage.

The Electric Orb Chain (Electric Orb Core + Nebula Assault Rifle)

Tier S Meta

How it works: Electric Orb Core projects chain lightning to adjacent Urslan Combatants and mob swarms. Paired with the high fire-rate Nebula Assault Rifle, every burst triggers cascading arcs that clear rooms instantly.

The Overlord Breaker (Missile Core + Destructive Blaster / Longbow)

Tier S Boss Killer

How it works: Missile Core launches seeking warheads on critical hits. Combined with the Gratov Quantum Longbow or Destructive Blaster, it shreds boss armor from safe range.

STEP 06

What Are the Official Difficulty Modes?

Pax Autocratica features three verified difficulty modes: Relaxed (reduced enemy scaling and resource penalties), Standard (baseline intended challenge with balanced governance), and Demanding (aggressive enemy scaling, harsher rebellion penalties, and tighter food demands).

1. Relaxed

Easier enemy scaling and reduced colony penalty. Adjusted in recent updates to provide an accessible experience for story and base builders.

2. Standard

The baseline intended experience. Balances expedition combat difficulty with prisoner loyalty and food supply requirements.

3. Demanding

The hardest mode. Features aggressive enemy scaling, harsher rebellion penalties, and requires optimized Core Fragment synergies.

STEP 07

What Are the Common Pitfalls for New Commanders?

The most common beginner mistakes are firing Capture Rounds at full-health enemies without weakening them below 25%, overstaying expeditions past ESL 5, neglecting Food Hall cooking production, and enabling Frame Generation on Steam Deck.

1. Wasting Capture Rounds on Full-Health Targets

Capture (F key) only works when enemy HP is reduced below ~25%. Always weaken Urslan and Scourgeborn foes before attempting capture.

2. Overstaying Expedition Zones (ESL Trap)

Enemy Strength Level escalates continuously. Staying past ESL 5 in early game will spawn elite Bastion Turrets and Shieldmasters.

3. Ignoring Food Hall Production

Housing multiple prisoners without adequate Food Hall meal output causes starvation, plummeting Loyalty and triggering violent prison riots.

4. Forgetting Steam Deck Frame Gen Setting

Turning on Frame Generation on Steam Deck / SteamOS causes boot crashes. Keep it disabled in graphics options.

“Adjusted difficulty balance: Relaxed and Standard difficulties have been made easier, while Demanding difficulty has been made slightly harder. Capture Rounds crafting material is wood, with reduced resource costs.”
