Pax Autocratica Roadmap: What Multiverse Actually Said

There are plenty of roadmap pages that turn a developer intention into a release date. This one does the opposite: it keeps Multiverse’s confirmed Early Access statements separate from guesses.

September 10 update: the temporary launch discount has ended, the old standalone Prologue has been retired, and late-August maintenance directives have already changed several colony and progression systems. The roadmap statements below remain the useful long-term reference.

1. The Core Timeline and Price Reality

Pax Autocratica entered Steam Early Access on August 10, 2026 at a standard US price of $29.99. A temporary 17% launch promotion reduced it to $24.89; that promotion has since ended, and Steam currently lists the game at $29.99. See the current price and store-status page instead of relying on the launch price.

Multiverse says Early Access is expected to last approximately two years, but also states that the duration can change with development progress and player feedback. That is an estimate, not an exact 1.0 release date.

For co-op, the wording matters: Multiverse describes co-op as one of the major features it hopes to develop during Early Access. That is a development goal, not a dated promise. For the current single-player status, see the Multiplayer & Co-op guide.

The developer also says it plans to raise the price when the game reaches full release. That tells us the direction of pricing, but not the exact future price.

2. What Multiverse Says Will Expand

The Early Access description says the game already contains a substantial amount of colony and combat content and that both sides are planned to receive additional content during development. In practice, this matters more than trying to guess individual unannounced features: the current game is not being treated as a content-complete 1.0 build.

The pace of change is already visible. Late-August updates added Colony Difficulty Customization, substantially expanded Foundation limits, improved production scheduling and hauling, added item selling at the Trading Post, adjusted several combat POIs, and shipped more UI and performance fixes. Our current strategy guide tracks the changes that materially affect play.

Multiverse has also publicly identified larger work-in-progress areas including combat repetitiveness, capture and prisoner conversion, soldier AI, and progression. Those are better indicators of what may change than community-made feature calendars.

3. What Happened to the Free Prologue?

The standalone Pax Autocratica: Prologue is no longer a current free demo. Multiverse announced that it would be retired from Steam on August 3, 2026, with development and support shifting to the main Early Access game.

If you find an older guide telling you to download the Prologue, treat that as historical information. Our Demo & Prologue Status page tracks the current situation.

4. Confirmed vs. Unconfirmed

Confirmed by Multiverse

  • Early Access began on August 10, 2026.
  • The developer currently estimates roughly two years of Early Access, with flexibility.
  • More colony and combat content is planned during Early Access.
  • Co-op is a major feature the team hopes to develop during Early Access.
  • The developer plans to raise the price at full release.

Not confirmed

  • A specific month or quarter for co-op.
  • An exact 1.0 release date.
  • A final 1.0 price.
  • Specific future systems that do not appear in current official developer statements.

That distinction is important because Early Access plans can change, and several systems have already changed materially within weeks of launch.
